flashback (draft)

Packed with men and boys in sleek black suits and silk ties, women and girls draped in trimmed animal furs and glittering heels. I waited outside shivering and down right fuming in my down jacket and jeans, Xavier yet again failed to tell me the dress code or simply state where we were going at all.
As I has stood countless times before restaurants and friend’s homes, more or less in the same situation to this, I had been always under or over dressed to my surroundings, and Xavier always had me lost in his own flow and direction of things. I always had gotten to the destination early, had waited from him. Yet he had me waiting and yearing for the moment he had cross the street or had turned that corner, he had me almost like a dog on a leash strapped to a piss covered fire hydrant. Xavier had me wagging my tail at simply the sight of him, my ‘owner’, lover, other half and finally now my ex.

Pulling away I final grasp my hand around my palm sized wallet, extracting the wallet from the maze of clothes, shoes and equipment in my bag. I open the clasp of my wallet; I see the uptown train across station bridge entering the station as I slid my student metro out of the credit card holder.
I slid the card in the metro card slot machine and out, already knowing that swipe was too fast, I still took a giant lunge towards the bar on my pelvis level. Well I don’t really need to catch this train, what’s the big deal I just miss first period gym anyway. Coach is just going to make me run laps, what a great warm up to the day right? My senses jolted back as the bar prevents me from entering the train station, I reached back with my right arm again and swiped my metro card again, this time making sure the screen displays Go as I pushed the turnstile with my hip.
Wiggling side ways as I tried to get my giant XL duffle bag through the turnstile, I make eye contact with that kid
